Optical Underground — opticalundergroundsf.com · 333 Linden St. A century in the eyewear business and it shows — past-season designer frames at real prices, plus their own lens lab. Tucked into the alley, easy to miss, don't miss it.
Dark Garden — darkgarden.com · 321 Linden St. Custom corsetry since 1989, fourteen seamstresses on staff, clients that include Dita Von Teese. If you want something built for your exact body, this is the room.
Alla Prima — allaprimalingerie.com · 539 Hayes St. The bra fitting everyone in this city eventually gets sent to. European lingerie, staff that actually measures you. Life-changing, no exaggeration.
Reliquary — reliquarysf.com · 544 Hayes St. Part vintage shop, part treasure chest. Estate jewelry, small designers, the occasional woven rug you didn't know you needed.
Métier — metiersf.com · 575 Hayes St. Midnight-blue walls, estate finds, modern designers like Gabriella Kiss. The engagement ring shop for people who don't want the engagement ring everyone else has.
Rebecca Overmann — rebeccaovermann.com · 526 Hayes St. Handcrafted rings and bands made right there in the studio, recycled metal, responsibly sourced stones. Feels less like shopping, more like visiting someone's workshop.

Blue Bottle — Hayes Valley Kiosk — bluebottlecoffee.com · 315 Linden St. The original. Opened in a dead-end alley in 2005 back when this was a sketchy corner under a freeway. Still just a walk-up window. Still worth the wait.

Nightbird — nightbirdrestaurant.com · 330 Gough St. Ten tables, a carved owl on the door, and a tasting menu from Kim Alter that's earned a Michelin Plate two years running. Book ahead — this isn't a walk-in kind of place. Duck into Linden Room next door while you wait.
Suppenküche — suppenkuche.com · 525 Laguna St. Open since 1993, communal tables, giant steins, schnitzel that doesn't mess around. One of the OGs that stuck it out here before the neighborhood got cool.
Hayes valley is a buzz with hustling restauranteurs producing serious eats! Burmese, French, Burgers, Greek, Italian, Vietnamese is well represented in the Hayes valley culinary map. Casual, San Francisco mid tier to Michelin adjacent. Folks are bananas for Rich Table, Kiln, Absynthe
